Confocal.nl recently announced the newest product in their lineup: NL5.
NL5 is an easy-to-use and compact confocal microscope system, a great addition to any microscopy facility. With the modular nature of NL5, it is also possible to easily convert any existing widefield fluorescence microscope into a fast confocal microscope system with high sensitivity and resolution.
The Ideal Microscope for Live Imaging
NL5 boasts a fast imaging speed and exceptionally low photo-toxicity by using line-scanning coupled with a sensitive sCMOS camera. Cells can be imaged for longer without compromise, and cell dynamics can be studied at high temporal resolution. In the following example, filopodial movements are imaged over time.
In the second example, a zebrafish embryo with labelled endothelial cells was imaged at high speed, allowing for the dynamics of development to be studied. Low photo-toxicity further means that the samples can be studied for longer with less detriment to sample health.
Deep Imaging
NL5 is capable of imaging deep into the samples with good resolution. Compared to a spinning-disk confocal microscope, the NL5 is capable of much clearer images at a depth of above 20 microns.
Resolution
A lateral resolution of up to 170nm can be achieved with NL5.
