The ImageCore technology used in Arivis Vision4D allows for fuss-free handling of large image sets. As images do not have to be loaded completely to RAM, even laptops that have relatively less RAM is able to open and perform operations on large datasets. In this case study, we explore the use of Arivis Vision4D in stitching and visualisation of a whole mouse brain.
The excellent memory management capability of Arivis Vision4D helped researchers at the Medical University of Vienna to obtain and visualise 3D information of the entire brain. The image processing pipeline used was as follows:
- After import, individual z-stacks were aligned and stitched using the Tile Sorter
- Resulting mosaics were visualised in 3D using the 4D viewer
- Movies were generated using the Storyboard feature
